This draft is based on the following, as they stand on 27 September 2026:
- UK: the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013
- Ireland: the Consumer Rights Act 2022, which also covers EU consumer rules
- the UK subscription rules in the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, expected from January 2027
- Article 50 of the EU AI Act
About these terms
anwarmalik.com is run by Anwar Ul Haq Malik, a sole trader trading as Anwar Malik, at [ADDRESS]. In these terms, “I”, “me” and “my” mean Anwar Malik, and “you” means the person using the site.
- Email: [email protected]
- VAT number, if registered: [VAT NUMBER]
By using the site you agree to Part A. If you buy a plan, Part B applies too. The Privacy Policy explains how I use your data.
Using the site fairly
You may use the site to read, learn, ask questions and get in touch. Please do not:
- break the law or harm anyone through the site
- try to get into accounts, systems or data that are not yours
- overload the site or the AI features, or try to make them say harmful or false things
- send spam, malware or other people’s personal data without permission
- pretend to be someone else
I may suspend access to protect the site or other people.
Content and copyright
The text, case studies, method, images and design on this site belong to me or the people who licensed them to me. You may:
- share links to any page
- quote short extracts, with credit and a link
- use the playbook templates in your own projects
Please do not republish whole pages, case studies or playbook stages, or sell them, without my written permission.

AI features
Ask Anwar, Ask this post and Ask the Playbook are AI systems, and they are labelled as AI. They answer from this site’s content. They can still:
- get things wrong
- leave things out
- misread your question
Their answers are general information. They are not legal, financial, medical, immigration or academic advice, and they do not speak for any university.
Please do not enter personal or confidential information. I may limit use of these features to prevent misuse.
What the site does and does not promise
- MSc case studies. The case studies are MSc projects completed for assessment. They are not products or services on sale. “Real-world potential” and “what it would take” describe possibilities and proposed requirements, not offers.
- Proposed ideas. The Innovation Exchange is a proposed concept. Anything marked “proposed” or “placeholder” may change or never happen.
- No guaranteed results. The From MSc to Market method is based on my own experience. It does not guarantee funding, customers, grades or jobs.
- Accuracy. I work to keep facts accurate and dated. If you spot an error, please tell me.
Talks, workshops and consulting
Sending a speaking invite or a Work with me brief does not create a contract. If we agree to work together, we will set out the scope, price, dates and cancellation terms in a separate written agreement. That agreement takes priority over these terms.
Other websites
Links to other sites are for convenience. I am not responsible for their content. TownsConnect is run by Digital Towns Ltd under its own terms and privacy policy.
My responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits my liability where the law does not allow it, including for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence
- fraud
- your statutory rights as a consumer
The free parts of the site are provided as they are. If you use the site for business purposes, I am not liable for:
- loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity or data
- any indirect loss
Plans
Prices are shown before you pay. They include any VAT I have to charge where you live.
University licences are sold to the university under a separate agreement. Students on a licence get access through their university Microsoft account while the licence is active.
Your account
- You must be 16 or over to create an account, and 18 or over to buy a plan.
- An account is for one person. Please keep your sign-in link or password to yourself.
- Tell me straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
Paying and renewals
- Payment. Payments are taken by Stripe. Your contract starts when I confirm your order by email.
- Automatic renewal. Student monthly and Student yearly renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price you agreed, until you cancel.
- Reminders. I email you before each yearly renewal, with the date, the price and how to cancel.
- Price changes. If a price is going up, I tell you at least 30 days before it applies. You can cancel before then.
- Lifetime. A single payment. It gives access for as long as I run the playbook (see section 17).
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe tries again. If it still fails, paid stages close until the payment is made. Your notes stay saved.
Cancelling a subscription
You can cancel at any time, in Account › Your plan or through the Stripe billing portal. It takes a couple of clicks, and you get a confirmation email.
You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. After that, the plan stops and you are not charged again. Your notes and portfolio stay saved for 12 months unless you delete them.
Your 14-day right to cancel
As a consumer in the UK, Ireland or the EU, you can usually cancel an online purchase within 14 days of the day your contract starts, without giving a reason. The playbook is digital content, so this works as follows:
- Starting straight away. At checkout you can ask to open paid stages straight away. You do this by ticking a box confirming that you understand you lose the 14-day right to cancel once you open paid content. I then confirm this in your order email.
- My promise on top of the law. If you have not opened any paid part of the playbook within 14 days of buying, you get a full refund.
- Yearly renewals. If you cancel within 14 days after a yearly renewal and have not opened any paid part since it renewed, you get a full refund of the renewal.
- Office hours and exercise reviews. These are services. If you asked for them to start within the 14 days and then cancel, I may deduct a fair amount for the part already provided.
To cancel, email me or use the form below. I refund you within 14 days, to the payment method you used.
To: Anwar Malik, [ADDRESS], [EMAIL]
I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the following digital content or service: [plan]. Ordered on: [date]. Name: [your name]. Address: [your address]. Date: [today].
If something is wrong
By law, the playbook must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. This is under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 in the UK, and the Consumer Rights Act 2022 in Ireland and equivalent rules in the rest of the EU.
If it is not, tell me and I will fix it. If I cannot fix it within a reasonable time, you can ask for a price reduction or a refund. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Your exercises and notes
- You own them. Your exercises, notes and project ideas stay yours.
- What I do with them. You let me store, review and display them to you, and include reviewed exercises in your evidence portfolio.
- Nothing is published without you. I never publish your work, or use it as an example, without asking you first.
- How feedback is written. An assistant may draft feedback, and I read, edit and send every review myself.
- If you share your portfolio. When you share your portfolio link, anyone with the link can see it until you turn sharing off.
Certificates
When you finish all five stages, I issue a certificate of completion in my own name.
It is not an academic qualification or academic credit. It is not accredited or endorsed by Teesside University or any other university, unless your university’s licence agreement says otherwise.
Changes and ending
- Updating the playbook. I update the playbook to keep it accurate and useful. I will not remove its main features during a period you have paid for.
- If I stop running it. I will give you at least 60 days’ notice. Subscribers get a refund for any unused paid period. Lifetime members get a refund, reduced fairly for the time they have had access. You can download your notes and portfolio before it closes.
- Suspending an account. If you seriously break these terms, for example by sharing your account or misusing the AI features, I may suspend or close your account. I will tell you why, and if possible I will give you a chance to put it right first.
- Changing these terms. If I change these terms in a way that matters, I will email members at least 30 days before. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change applies.
Responsibility for the membership
I am responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of my breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. I am not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable.
If faulty digital content I supplied damages your device or other digital content, I will repair the damage or pay you fair compensation.
The membership is for personal learning. I am not liable for business losses. Section 8 also applies to Part B.
Law and disputes
If you have a problem, please contact me first. Most things can be sorted out quickly.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear disputes. Wherever you live, you keep the consumer protections of your own country:
- Scotland or Northern Ireland: you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
- Ireland or elsewhere in the EU: you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. In Ireland that includes the Small Claims procedure.
